Thank you to all of my friends that followed me over to Facebook, and to my new site. The drawing for the prize will be Saturday. My new site is still going to be under construction for some time but once it's done it will be easy to move around and find what you are looking for.

You will notice a few of my pages are private, no worries... the things that are private are pages that you may not normally view anyways. The people that attend my classes regularly know the code to visit my class schedule, the resumes are there in case I were to apply for a design team or another craft position. The pages I feel you want to look at are open to everyone.

Most of you know that I have had a few local girls following my foot steps around the blogs, places I work, and pretty much whatever I do, this is just one more way to "hide" what I am really doing. They can't do what I am doing if they can't see it~ such a pain and a disappointment but with great advise from friends this is what I am doing for now.

Oh my... my move is almost as stressful as a real move~ I finally connected with my domain & hosting companies today.. they say my new site should be up w/ in 24 hours. Remember it is a Hot Mess over there. IT'S MOVING TIME!!

Most of you already know that I have been planning to move from Blogger to WordPress. Well this is the weekend I make my big move! I purchased my new land, house, and furniture.... now it's time to move.

I have been going back and forth between my 2 homes for a while now and I am tired, so I am moving the rest of my stuff over today, and hopefully I can say goodbye to Blogger tomorrow.

The new house is not finished, I still have some organizing to do. I also have to unpack what I want to keep and get rid of a few unwanted things.    You will be able to find my new house since I am keeping the same address.

I feel like I am behind on posts, work, classes, laundry, kids stuff, etc... I wish I could spend a week

playing catch up, but that's not gonna happen. So here I am with a quick post and a few updates.

Craft Store Classrooms: The Good, The Bad and The Fab :)

Do you use the classroom at local craft store? Do you love the space or do you wish they would make a few changes?
Classrooms in craft stores are becoming more and more popular. Not everyone has a craft space in their home, so we look for places to go. Of course going to a crop or taking a class is better when you bring a friend or two :)
Let's take a peak inside a few classrooms. I went to 5 stores in my local area and here is what I found.

This classroom was a great size and had plenty of space.

This classroom is dark, dingy, and isn't very inviting.

Beautiful & Huge. I love the hardwood floors, comfy chairs, and I like the layout of the tables. This classroom has windows that look into the store. You can easily get around this room and you can spread out.

This classroom is big but it was full of clutter. Too much product, displays, and tools. It was hard to feel comfortable in this room. There wasn't enough space to walk around, I felt stuck.

Here is a brand new classroom at a Michael's Craft Store. The room is bright, cheerful, and inviting. However the room was small and the tables are narrow. I do love the sink, the use of their tools, and the display of ideas.
I currently work in a classroom that needs an update, and I'm excited to be tacking their classroom update for them this fall! While the classroom itself isn't the only consideration for me when planning to attend an event, it's certainly important!

My new website is almost done and I am SO happy to be moving over to Word press.. WOW what a difference. Had I known about it before I would never of came over to blogger. At CHA this year I took some business seminars and each seminar I went to discussed how Word press is the place to be and what the advantages are to being on word press. You can use word press for FREE although I can say I am not going the free route... I have been putting some money into the new site but it's worth it. You will notice this site is looking a little empty.. I am slowly deleting pages and info as I am moving to my new site.. I hope you will follow me once I move, I promise to have some wonderful drawings on my new site. I hope to have it done soon!

I made a few more changes to my craft space last week. I had this beautiful oak writing desk in my personal craft-room. The problem was, that I couldn't ink, stamp, paint, or do any thing messing on it. I was so worried about ruining the desk, so I decided to trade it in~ I just started doing business with a new friend of mine and we did some swapping of some money and other furniture and this is what I ended up getting.

My New-Old Primitive Desk, the drawer inside the desk is huge.
Now I can ink, stamp, paint, whatever & I don't care~

Well you can't get a new desk and then not get a new chair.

My new-old chair is perfect.. I love the high back & that it is black.
The seat is perfect. I love espresso & I love burlap~

Well you can't get a new desk & chair without adding
an accessory that will look great next to it. My new-old
Primitive Cabinet.. perfect for some of my Tim Holtz products. I wish everything
would fit in one place. But at least it's unique.

Check out my craft space page for some more photos. I added a new door and window to my decor
and a few more accessories. I plan to rearrange my classroom this week. Don't forget about the scrapbooking challenge, it ends on Saturday. Thanks for looking at my new old finds~

Legacy Scrapbooks Closing Soon~

Legacy Scrapbooks opened it's doors in 2004 and on August 28th those doors will close. If you did not get a chance to check out this store please stop before it's to late. When your local scrapbook store closes it's very disappointing. It's not like other stores or restaurants that close. You usually have a back up. When my local Borders announced it's closing I was also disappointed, but now I'll just go to Barnes & Noble more. When Circuit City closed I started to go to Best Buy more. There are not many options when your scrapbook store closes. Yes, I know there is online shopping but sometimes I just want to touch and see my items first. Please help support your local scrapbook store and shop there whenever you can, they really do appreciate the business.

Change is GOOD~CHA & News~

Back from CHA.. and finally getting back into work. I will post a few photos here & there.

I needed a new photo of Tim Holtz & Me.. I was lucky to hang with him, Mario,
Claudine, Wendy, Jenni, and Nancy on my first day at CHA.

I spent most of my days in seminars, meetings, and workshops, but I did shop too~ I placed orders with 10 manufactures and have accounts set up with over 60 companies.. it was too hard to choose which I wanted to go with so.. I decided to pick all of my favorites! The first items to arrive will be from Canvas Corp and Buttons etc... Don't worry I did order from Ranger & Tim Holtz as promised. For my local crafty friends I will be setting up that long awaited shop right next to
my classroom area. I started to shop for display items already~

Love her.. I was stalking her this time~ I can't say who it is just yet, since I have a question
on my FB page regarding this photo.. Although my crafty blogging friends will know who this is.

Just like any other business, change is good and bad. I love change, and I think my changes will be
good ones~ I just don't like all the time and work that goes with it~ I am in the process of making some big changes to my business but it will take a while. First change will be a new logo, yep finally got someone working on it and I am really excited to have something fresh and new.
I am also moving over to Word press and adding a store to my new site. WOW that's a lot~

Hello Crafty Friends.. I will be gone till Thursday, so I thought I would catch you up on a few things.

I am leaving in about 2 hours for CHA... today is meetings, workshops, seminars, and networking. Tonight is The Taste of the Rosemont, which means FREE drinks and food... and more networking. Later tonight, hanging with some friends and talking business.

Tomorrow the fun stuff begins.. CHA always officially starts on Tuesday, not sure what CHA is? Craft and Hobby Association. This event is closed to the public and now it's closed to even more crafters in other areas that are not considered a business, but here are a few more facts taken right from CHA.

CHA SUMMER SHOW FACTS

The CHA Summer Convention & Trade Show is the season’s largest professional craft and hobby show.
Hosted at the Donald E. Stephens Convention and Conference Center in Rosemont, IL. for over 30 years
Over 400 U.S. & International exhibitors from dozens of countries
Over 75,000 net sq. ft. of exhibit space
Over 5,000 attendees and more than 2,500 buyers anticipated
Hundreds of new craft products launched
Dozens of craft industry celebrities on hand ( Tim, Heidi, Claudine, Lisa, Lizzy, Jennifer, Teresa, just to name a few)

There are a few manufactures that dropped out of the CHA, but over 30 new companies are coming in.. I am really excited this year, since I am meeting friends there, but I am pretty much doing my own thing. I have my itinerary ready, bags packed and I can't wait to go. I will be posting photos on FB while I am gone and will post the photos here, hopefully Friday.

All of my classes are cancelled this week except for the one class I am coming back for on Thursday. All other classes will start back up on Tuesday July 26th.

I will be working on putting up my August Schedule when I get back, I am a little behind.

You can help heroes keep in touch with home by attending this event. Crafters will be
gathering along with Sandy Allnock the founder of Operation Write Home at Scrapbook Superstore to create 1,000 Handmade Cards for deployed American servicemen and women.

Operation We R Grateful is an effort to give back to our nation's servicemen and women! Scrapbook Superstore is hosting a “Free” Make & Give Event, Saturday, July 23rd from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Anyone can stop by and put together a pre-crafted card or two to donate to the Operation Write Home efforts. Scrapbook Superstore is also a Drop Zone for anyone who cannot attend that day but would like to donate pre-made cards. Croppers will be set up in the Scrapbook Superstore as well as a second location in Market Square. We hope you can stop by to make a card for our Heroes.

Latest Layout for Hannah's.. kit for sale soon!

Here is my latest Layout for sale over at Hannah's Scrapbooking Headquarters in Antioch. I havent' turned it in yet.. so it won't be for sale yet... I hope to turn it in on Friday but with CHA next week it probably won't be for sale for about 2 weeks.

This layout is using 2 white cs, 1 black cs, 1 basic grey nook & pantry lemon meringue pie pp, misc. pearls, Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Distress ink, daubers, basic grey die cut shapes, basic grey decorative paper clips, American crafts elements cricket colored brads, EK success butterfly punch, black fine point sharpie, and I traced the decorative frame from chipboard from Melissa Frances.

I love the Yellow and Green lately.. I also love my niece Taya.. she seems to pop up on a lot of my layouts, but she is SO darn cute. Thanks for Looking.. So my husband bought me this beautiful cabinet for my

birthday and I just couldn't get past the color. My favorite

black spray paint can was full so here it is all new again.

Ok, I totally love the Black.. what do you think? I am adding

Hello Local Crafty Friends....
I just got done working at the new Michael's Location in Mt. Pleasant.. if you are a local friend of mine I have news for you!

Friends & Family Night is Thursday 6-9 you gotta go.. this store is AMAZING... I love it! The store officially opens on Friday for the public and then Sunday is the Grand Opening Celebration 10- 8... I will be there on Sunday doing a Cricut demo from 11-1 and a Card Demo from 1-3 We will be giving away a free tote bag to the first 200 customers and will be having daily prizes for some lucky shoppers.

New stuff happening at the new location: TONS of new TIM HOLTZ products, Michael's is now selling COPIC markers, Tons of new Martha Stewart punches, paper, etc... the scrapbooking isles go on forever and the classroom is AWESOME~ For those of you that love crafts... there are SO many new items in this new location, tons of yarn, kids crafts, wood crafts, everything is bigger and better~

What will I be doing at the new location?

I will be teaching the 4 week Beginners Scrapbooking Classes starting in August Monday nights.

I will also be doing the Cricut Classes, Copic Classes, Crops, Advanced Scrapbooking Classes, and demo's that

are scrapbooking/card related. I will also be creating the layouts, cards, signs and some of the art work you see in the

scrapbooking department and classroom

I will be there Thursday, Friday, Sunday & Tuesday. I hope I see you there. I can't wait to start shopping on Thursday!

Hello Crafty Friends!   In the News for today:

* I just posted  Blog Candy at Hannah's  if you are a fan of 7 Gypsies, you'll love this candy.
I'll be drawing a winner on July 4th.

* I have started up another Business Adventure with a BF of mine.. our business name is "Crafters Anonymous". We will be selling all homemade, vintage, and trash to treasure finds.   We take custom orders and will mainly be selling: coasters, aprons, cards/tags, night lights, stars, baskets, and crafty storage.   We already have a store front that will be displaying our items for sale... but we are keeping that a secret for a few more weeks! I will post pictures later this week.

* Since I am making room for our new items I just lowered the prices in my etsy shop.. check it out. Don't forget I am still taking custom orders for items you see listed. I just sent out a box of vintage spools, my vintage ribbons, and an order of vintage supplies. You will have to send me a separate email for your custom requests.

* I now have a facebook page. Thank you to my 50 new friends on my page and thanks for your support~

*Thank you to Kathy & Pam for the wonderful, beautiful, and one of a kind aprons you both made me.. I love them & have been wearing them to my classes. The kids in my classes noticed right away that I was wearing new aprons.

This is my 2nd block I have done and I am addicted.. I love the blocks! What a great blog candy idea.... may need to do one soon! This would make a great gift for a man.. Here are the photos of my 2 new "PINK" presents. I wish I would of took a few before and after
photos. They were really ugly before. I love how they look like they were always in my room. The bottom cabinet in this unit has a huge drawer and a huge shelf, perfect for my baskets and supplies for the stores. I did some rearranging in the room and got rid of more things I didn't need. Thanks for looking. I did add new photos to my craft room page.

Echo Park Playground Layout

Legacy Scrapbooks Bus Trip in Cedarburg Wisconsin

Did you ever watch Little House on the Prairie when you were a child? Didn't you just love how clean, simple, and quiet the "town" seemed to be? You had very little to choose from when shopping, eating out, or even going out. I know it was just a show on tv but looking back at that time period...life seemed easy. Well fast forward to 2011 and now picture "The Little House" in the town of Cedarburg with a population of 13,000.

Cedarburg is 20 miles north of Milwaukee. When driving into Cedarburg you will immedietly fall in love with the old world charm.   Historic buildings, Museums, Antique shops, and speciality shops that line the main streets. Cedarburg is beautiful!   Yes, there are places for shopping, eating, and plenty of area attractions but you still get that clean, simple and warm feeling.   Cedarburg is full of art, creativity, and wonderful views. I had to introduce you to the town of Cedarburg before I told you about my favorite part of Cedarburg. Welcome to Legacy Scrapbooks, Your Gateway to Creativity!   Legacy Scrapbooks is located in downtown Cedarburg. This store opened in 2004 and has 4,000 sq feet of the latest scrapbooking, stamping and paper crafting supplies.
Colleen Eggleston is the owner of this store, she is the one in the front row with the cute white top and black sweater.  I went on their April 9th bus trip to visit this store and 2 other scrapbook stores. This is our group of crafty girls that were on the "Legacy" bus.    This day trip was awesome! I went to 3 scrapbook stores I have never been to, made projects at each location, watched 2 movies on the bus, ate all day long, and I met some wonderful ladies.   Not to mention all of the shopping too.  We started out shopping at Legacy, having breakfast and then we headed out to the next 2 locations. I will tell you more about the actual bus trip as I introduce the other 2 stores next week.

First I want to share with you my favorite part of Legacy Scrapbooks. Have you ever needed just one more green button or one more pink heart brad but didn't want to buy a whole package? Look at this great display! It reminded me of the penny candy jars from Little House on the Prairie.
Legacy calls this there "Brad Buffet". Jars full of buttons, brads, charms, ribbon, flowers, eyelets, gem stones, and sparklers. The items in the jars are priced between $.05 to $.50 .   What a great idea! Legacy is full of creative displays and a great selection of products. They also have more pictures on the Legacy Scrapbooks Store Website You can also check out the Legacy Scrapbooks Blog.
We made 7 projects between the 3 stores. This is a photo of the items we made along with the FREE items we received from the bus chaperone's from Legacy and other freebies came from purchases made at the stores.
Who knew a bus trip could be so fun? Candy, soda, brownies, chips, stickers, punches, paper, and a movie. This was one bus trip where you did not want to take a nap!   Once we got back to Legacy Scrapbooks there was more food waiting for us and that's when we took the group photo. It was a long day but well worth the trip. I couldn't wait to get home to unpack my bags of new product and goodies. If you have not been on a Scrapbook Bus Trip, you'll need to add it to your bucket list.

I love these pictures of Alyssa from when she was 5 years old. I miss the days of playing dress up and dancing around. This paper was so fun to work play with. I didn't even use the cutest sides of the paper... the other side was SO darn cute too! That's the only problem with using double sided patterned paper.. what if you like both sides?

Products I used: Websters Pages District 45, Accessorize, Style 105 and 1 hot pink cs, I also used glossy accents, my stampin up heart punch, twine, tiny attacher, Rockaby Thickers, Tim Holtz hangers, black distressing inks, dress form die set, misc. ribbon, pearls, pins, and black cardstock.

After one of my daughters accidentally spilled red acrylic paint on my new carpet in my classroom, we decided they needed their own craft room. So we turned their small play room into an extension of my craft space. Here are 2 pictures of the playroom as I started to empty it out, it was full of toys. The room is still missing a few more decorative items which we should get in a week or two. We ordered a set of the Martha Stewart Pom Poms, just like the ones I have in my craft room. My new friend "Dom" painted this room Martha Stewart's Sugared Pansy Pink the color is so sweet. I love it~ Check out my after photos.. if you want Dom to come paint for you, email me & I'll give you his number. He painted a few other things for me too. Did a great job! Thanks Dom & Katie!

What is a crop?
When I did a google search, "What is a Crop?" here are a few things I found...

A crop is a muscular sac found commonly in birds.

Crop circles are patterns have been created in wheat, barley, canola, trees, ice, rice paddies and linseed.

A crop is a non-animal species or variety that is grown to be harvested as food, livestock fodder, fuel or for any other economic purpose.

blah blah blah.. totally not the Crop I want to talk about!
A paper crafter's crop is so much more interesting than the above definitions. Here is my personal definition:   A crop is an event!
Yep.. an event. You and your other papercrafting friends pack up what seems like everything you own, load up your vehicles and head out to the crop destination. To some this is a vacation, some do it more than others, and some are going for the first time.
Besides being called a crop, some refer to them as; Scrap Aways, Scrap Camp, or Weekend Getaways.  I personally can't wait to get away to scrapbook or craft. No kids, no cleaning, no preparing meals, no laundry, and no unwanted distractions.  At crops you will find women, (sometimes a few men) scrapbooking, card making, creating invites or something else craft related. This is "Our TIME" to get caught up or time to get away and get inspired.
At a crop.. you are not alone scrapping, you are with a room full of other crafters. You can share ideas, take photos, talk "crop" talk with people who actually know what you are talking about... and just enjoy doing what you love!   You will be surprised at how a room full of crafty girls can scrap from 8 a.m till 2 a.m and be back in the room at 8 a.m for another full day of scrapping.
As great as a crop is there are a few things I look for in a crop before I go. These are just a few things you might want to check into before you go to your next crop.
10 Things to Consider Before Going To A Crop

Crop Space How much table space do we get? Can we buy more?
Lighting High ceilings/floor lamps/windows
Food What is included, nearby restaurants, drinks/snacks?
Music Bring your own or is the hostess bringing music?
Temperature is it typically a cold or hot room? Fans?
Electrical outlets For personal electronics
Tool Center Is there a shared table for punches, Cricuts, etc...
Price/Time What's included? Overnight accommodations price per night? Day time price?

Let's Talk Copic Certification Classes~

If you are a scrapbooker, card maker, or a paper crafter of any kind I am sure you have heard of Copic Markers by now...right? If you haven't...where have you been? No worries, I'll leave you plenty of links so you can find out everything you need to know about Copic Markers .
The certification class is available for teachers, store owners/employees, and designers who will teach and share with their classes, stores, workshops, and designs/blogs. The classes will open to the public if there is room.
On March 25th, I took my 2nd Copic Certification class since it was only an hour away in Brookfield Wisconsin.   I was pleased to have Debbie Olson instruct our class. Debbie did a wonderful job & I picked up more techniques this time around. I have also had Lori Craig as an instructor and she also did a wonderful job, but I was just too excited about CHA so I missed a few key points. Why would I take the class a 2nd time you ask? One reason is that it was so close how could I not?   My other reasons for retaking the class are that the price of a 2nd class is great, I love to learn as much as I can about a product, I enjoy taking classes, and like most of you already know from experience, each class and teacher are different.

Here is a view of our classroom. There were 22 of us in class,
3 were taking it for a 2nd time.

I asked a few of the ladies in my class why they took the class. Here are some of the answers.   A couple wanted to try something new, one just heard of them and wanted to find out what the "big deal" was. A few were store owners or store employees and are interested in purchasing them for their stores, we even had a few instructors and a few that just love coloring with copics. We also had a few die hard bloggers or design team members who like to participate in challenges. So as you can see everyone has a reason as to why they want to be copic certified, not everyone does it so they can become an instructor. You can take the class, get certified and do nothing with it or you can display your badge proudly and show us all of your wonderful "copic" colored images.

I was happy to find my friend Gail in the class, she is a natural when it comes to coloring and her work is beautiful!   Gail is also a big time stalker fan of Debbie's and she was not going to miss this opportunity to take a class with her.   I could learn a few things from Gail! (hint, hint)

While I was in class after my 4th cup of coffee, I was curious to know how many other "copic fans" are there in Wisconsin. By fans, I mean how many of us have taken a copic certification class? Nancy Zenke the Certification Coordinator from copic was able to get me some info.. thanks Nancy.. So far 183 people are certified in Wisconsin, that live in Wisconsin. Another 104 people came to Wisconsin to get certified. (Michigan/Illinois)

Copic Instructors have taught classes in Eau Claire, Green Bay and Milwaukee(twice) so far.   I bet you're hoping they get to your city! Keep checking their site for upcoming locations. I drove an hour each time for my class and I probably would of drove 2 hours.. the money, experience and drive are well worth it!  Click this for Upcoming Classes

I have also talked to many copic certified bloggers as to what the whole "certification" means to them.. and I received many responses. Some bloggers are teaching copic classes, a few just wanted to learn more techniques, a few are on design teams for digital stamp companies and that is their "coloring tool" of choice. There were even a few that just love to take classes and when they saw a class in their city they took it.. nothing wrong with that. Just like the store owners, employees, instructors, and design team members, we all just want to learn more about Copics.

My final copic thing to talk about is the  Blinkie, Badge or Button, whatever you prefer to call it. I am sure if you are a blogger you have seen this Copic Certified Designer badge everywhere. Well it means the same thing where ever you see it. They took a class and they are now "Copic Certified Designers" at least that is what our certificate and badge say. It does not mean that they are claiming to be an expert nor does it mean they are the most experienced copic designer around. When you pay to get certified it's one of those things that comes with the cost of the class, along with your book, markers, certificate and the knowledge you now carry.   A few die hard bloggers love the blinkies and can't wait to add it to their blog. A few just add it because they plan to teach and it's a easy way to be spotted as a teacher, others like me.. say "Hey I earned it, I paid for the class I am going to show it off!   Blinkies are meant to be displayed and bloggers are proud of them~ I am sure if you take the class you would be proud to show off your badge too!

For those of you thinking about taking the copic certification class, I can say I am glad I took the class, not once but twice. It is a great class. If you decide it is not for you, not a problem there are plenty of sites out there sharing tips and techniques. I have also seen crafters who do such beautiful work with the copics and they are self taught. You don't need to be certified to use the markers you just need to have room for them since there is now 346 colors.
Well after talking about Copics so much, it's time for me to go practice~

I have a crazy schedule this week so I am posting a few things in this post.

2nd & 3rd Copics & Crops! I am working on 2 new posts for the Wisconsin Papercrafter's Corner. I hope to have them both done later this week. I went to another copic certification class a couple of weeks ago, took a few pictures and I have some info to share. I just went to a crop this last weekend.... had a blast and did 50 pages.. so I thought it would be fun to talk about crops. 4th April Class Schedule! I am almost done with my schedule so some of it will be posted here later this week. My Scrapbooking Classes at the Museum start this Wednesday.
5th & Final News~ Happy Dance going on over here~ I just got news that a magazine is going to publish one of my layouts.. it will be the June/July issue. That's all I can say right now since I am still filling out the paper work and finalizing things.. once I get the ok.. I'll let you know which magazine! SO excited that it is in a magazine that I can buy in one of my favorite stores!

I also used the Animal Crackers Boarder stickers, misc. buttons/thread, Tim Holtz Rosette die, CM large circle, pinking sheers, and stickles. I printed the title on my computer & cut it out with a circle punch.

Here is a layout I designed for my class on Tuesday and for Hannah's Home Accents
This layout design & kit will be available for purchase at Hannah's in a few weeks, you can reserve your kit and they will even ship it to you! Talk about great service!

This layout can be moved around to where you can decide which page comes first.
I changed the picture w/ my husband & my 2 girls to the one w/ my
girls sitting together. My girls wanted the picture with the horses in the background.

I hosted a Crop yesterday at Michael's Craft Store for 6 hours and this is all I was able to get done!

Most of the product used was purchased from Michael's. I was busy helping other crafters in the crop so I wasn't able to get much done but I still had fun, besides I love meeting new people & the women were awesome! Good News for those of you getting ready for your weekend crops in Lake Geneva or in Delavan this Spring or Summer.   I had heard that the "Memories from the Heart" scrapbooking store had moved into Ben Franklin Crafts a while ago, so I wanted to see what they had. I love it when you can easily find what you want and see that the products are actually in the store. You don't need to track down a clerk to get you a die from the back of the store. Everything you need or want is right there.   Do you need cardstock? Ben Frankin Crafts is getting ready for 150 of the most popular colors of Bazzill Cardstock, they will have it in 12x12 and in 8 1/2 x 11.
Check out their website for their monthly calendar. Ben Franklin Crafts has a wide variety of classes. Inky Antics Card Class, Wireworks Necklace class, Beginning Sewing, Beginning Knitting, Tatting classes, Crocheting, Cake Decorating and so much more. To bad I don't live closer I would be interested in taking a class.
On Tuesdays they have open scrapbooking from 9 a.m.-5 p.m

I am going to a weekend Crop in Lake Geneva in April, so I am planning to stop back in and pick up a few more of those copic markers and some Easter goodies. Craft Room Updated~

I just spent my Sunday rearranging my craft room to make room for
my new shelving unit. I love making changes to my craft area.. I change it at least once a month!

Here is my new shelf. I love that I can adjust the shelves and this
is heavy and hard to move, so looks like it'll be staying here for a while.

I still have piles of craft product to go through to organize. I have been making my goodwill piles, selling piles, and blog candy piles. This is a layout we did in class this week.... I have been teaching classes out of my home for over 3 years now, and almost 2 years outside of the home. This layout makes me happy because I was able to use some canvas, pearls, burlap, lace & other fun products. We are doing a very similar layout during my Tuesday class at Hobby Lobby, those women will be bringing their black & white photos from when they were young.. they have such beautiful photos to work with so I can't wait! The ABC banner represents my daughters initials, she loves it when I use ABC instead of her name.

No Time To Play!

I am taking the next few days off so I can play catch up on my "to do" list. I just finished my March schedule and I updated my private class website. I have 28 classes scheduled just in March. That doesn't count the 2 classes I will be taking and I am not counting any work that I do for the Design Team. I guess it's safe to say I'll be busy. I did want to post this layout I did a few weeks ago of my daughter Sam, when she was 2.. I just miss that age! Well off to my "to do" list. Hope to see you in a class next Month! Craft Day

Here are my girls working on their "altered art". Sam is actually doing her homework. She has to make a project using wood and nails. So she is going to make a house using these craft pieces. Alyssa is working on a tray for in her bedroom. This is day one, I'll show you pictures as they work on it.. they want to be a part of my blog. (yes they are wearing pj's, these photo's were taken right before bed)

Here is a photo of what I have done so far with my altered art project. So far I have 3 sides "almost" done.

I didn't realize it until now but I should of picked up more products to add to this project. So far I love the colors.

I am SO excited, I have to say this is probably going to be my favorite "crafty" position. Drum Roll here ....

I am on a Design Team for Hannah's Scrapbook Headquarters. They are located in Antioch Illinois. Hannah's is a 30,000 sq. ft store filled with not only scrapbooking goodies, but also a candle shop, custom floral, a frame shop, home décor, a “Life Is Good" store, an expanded “Vera Bradley" and “Pandora Jewelry" departments, and so much more. You'll have to check out this store!

I will be part of the Design Team, mainly creating 2 page layouts and altered items. Occasionally I'll design a card or two or even teach a class. Check out their website and follow the design team and all of their wonderful creations. Here is a photo of the 2 items I plan to alter first. Which next to Scrapbooking this is my favorite thing to do~ All of these products I am using can be found at Hannah's. If you are in the mood for a road trip or live near by you have to check out their store... they even have classes, crops and other Scrapbooking & Card events. Follow the blog or find them on Facebook so you can get updates on all of their crafty events.

For my 1st project I'll use: Webster's pages paper (Life's Portrait), Maya Road wood chips, Girl's Paperie vintage buttons, 7 Gypsies paper tape and some beautiful lace ribbon. I'll add to this list as I start to add my inks, paints, more ribbon and other embellishments. You will notice the 3 1/2 inch wooden block.. that is actually what I will be altering. I will post the final image once I finish.

For this project I'll be decorating that wonderful 2 sided stand. I will be using Websters pages paper (Spring Market), Maya Road ribbon and wood chips, 7 Gypsies paper tape, Vinyl Thickers, Webster's pages chipboard buttons, and a mini chalkboard wooden tag. Again I'll add to this list as I start putting it together. I plan to use some dies of Tim Holtz and a few of his embellishments. Close To My Heart Spring/Summer Idea Book Blog Hop

I decided to Scrapbook my girls school pictures right away before I forget about them. I used the Mayberry Paper for this layout along with the new designer wood buttons, a bingo card from the Lucky assortment pack, and a sticker from the Lucky Level 2 assortment. I also used 2 strips of the Kraft Color Ready borders, they have a sticker back which I love. The ribbon is from the Pink Collection new to CTMH.. I love all of these new products.. clean..simple...and all very easy to use. Too darn cute!

For this layout I used the new pink assortment buttons, waxy flax and the Sophia paper pack. I have been with CTMH for 3 years now with a very short 2 month break in between.. I don't talk much about CTMH but I absolutely love the products and this is my favorite catalog. Thanks for taking a peak!

My Version of the Pottery Barn Andover Cabinet

This is the $700 Pottery Barn Andover Cabinet that I have been drooling over for a while now.
They also have it in a weathered white.
Today I found a version I actually liked better!

This is $200 at Marshall's, I just found it today. My Birthday is on Wednesday & my husband likes to know

exactly what I want.. so here it is! A few days early but I was afraid it would be gone since it was the only one. All 9 of the drawers open, they are deep and long. The PB version has only 4 drawers on the top row, the other drawers are actually false drawers, they open as 2 cabinets with shelves. I am happy to now have this sitting in my craft room. I will eventually paint it black and then distress it!

This article just came out today! It was a goal of mine last year to be in the magazine. The picture was actually taken in December but it was saved for the February/March magazine. My color ads promoting my classes and business will start in April. I have been working really hard to get my name out there and I have new goals in place for this year.. so far so good. Thank you to my friends that continue to support me, I just had my 3 year anniversary of teaching classes out of my home "classroom". I am looking forward to my new schedule of classes, new places to be teaching at, and the new Scrapbook stores I'll be writing about soon.

I get to play with sooo many new products and get to see the scrap supplies before they hit the shelves. Anyways speaking of new products.. I have a brand new Martha Stewart Circle cutter and some beautiful ribbon to give away. My daughter Alyssa said lucky #35 is the winner of my blog candy. Hello, I just want to say thank you to Feline Playful for the awesome comment/follower blog hop, I have met soo many new crafting friends and I have many new followers because of your great idea.

I want to remind everyone that there is only 2 more days left to sign up for my blog candy. I also just added new pictures to my craft space, since I just made a few changes, please check out my new room, I am loving it more and more lately. I have a few more things to change then it should be done! Remember my photo shoot back in December? Back 2 School Layout

I threw a party on the 1st day of school, it wasn't a kid party! It was an adult party, Mimosa's, Bloody Mary's and Champagne... party started at 9am & ended when the kids came home from school. Here is the group photo. I love parties, I have one about every month, my husband says I look for an excuse to have a party. I used Scrabble Game Pieces for my title. I used Tim Holtz clip and #2. Pearls are from Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby, the ribbon is May Arts. The paper is just left overs from previous layouts. Thanks for looking!
